July's Word is Horse.

English: Horse
German: Pferd
French: Cheval
German: Caballo


Breed a Month
Shetland.

Place of Origin: Shetland Isles, Scotland.
Height: Around 40 inches (10hh)
Colour: Any
Conformation: Small ears, broad forehead, crested neck and short back and legs.
Characteristics: Hardy, strong, intelligent and easy tp train.
History: People think these ponies came to the Shetland Islands from Scandinavia around 10.000 years ago.
Uses: They used to be Pit Ponies but now they are popular as driving ponies and children's ponies.
